Schoolwide Title I School-Parent Compact 

Central Kitsap School District is  committed to providing a vibrant and inclusive learning community where all students find their passion and achieve their dreams.  In order for this to be most successful, parents/guardians, staff, and students all partner together in this responsibility.  The school-parent compact below is a voluntary agreement between the school and home to this commitment.  Thank you for sharing this common focus. 



 

Faculty/Staff understand the importance of the school experience for every student and their role as educators/models. 

Therefore, the school agrees to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of their ability by:

  • Provide a safe and caring environment where all students can learn.
  • Demonstrating professionalism and a positive attitude with students, staff and families.
  • Teaching, modeling, and reinforcing all ORCA expectations throughout the school year in a consistent manner.
  • Providing behavior specific praise and reinforcement throughout all school settings.
  • Providing high-quality curriculum and specific instruction designed to increase student achievement toward meeting state academic standards.
  • Communicating and working with families to support academic and social learning.
  • Offering opportunities for parents/guardians to volunteer and participate in ways that support their child’s learning
  • Invite parents/guardians to volunteer and participate in ways that support their child’s learning.
  • Communicate to families in their home language (written/verbal).
  • Providing an opportunity to review this plan during parent conferences.

 

Caregivers understand that participation in their student’s education will help them achieve and develop a positive attitude regarding school and learning. 

Therefore, the caregiver agrees to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of their ability by:

  • Supporting my child in arriving at school on time each day ready to learn, with sufficient sleep, nourishment, and appropriate school supplies.
  • Engaging in communication through ParentSquare, planners, electronic communications, notes and/or conferences. 
  • Communicate information about home that may affect your child’s learning.
  • Reviewing and appreciating my child’s school papers. Please check their backpack daily.
  • Asking your child about social/emotional skills learned from the classroom curriculum.
  • Attending school functions and meetings.
  • Understanding and reinforcing our ORCA Ready expectations (See reverse side)
  • Reinforcing positive school behaviors at home and in the community.

 

Students realize education is important. They are responsible for their own success.

Therefore, each student agrees to carry out the following responsibilities to the best of their ability by:

  • Arriving at school on-time and demonstrating ORCA READY expectations.
  • Doing assigned work and asking for help when needed.
  • Giving my caregiver all information received by me from the school.
  • Staying organized, accessing, and using educational resources.
  • Actively engaging in classwork and to keep trying even when learning feels challenging.
  • Taking responsibility for my own actions and how they impact others.
  • Telling an adult about unsafe behaviors and asking an adult for help.

 

Ongoing communication between the teacher and families will take place through:
